The Journal of Medical Insight (JOMI) has a vision to improve patient outcomes by publishing high-quality video articles of cutting-edge and standard-of-care surgical procedures. These surgical video articles feature top teaching physicians and are primarily geared toward medical students, residents, and attending physicians. JOMI has filmed at Massachusetts General Hospital, Yale New Haven Hospital, UChicago Medicine, and other top institutions around the world.

Job Description:

We are looking for full-time video editors who are interested in editing surgical videos. Our video team has the opportunity to film the best surgeons live in the operating room, edit the videos into extensive educational modules, and then distribute this content to physicians and students around the world.

The responsibilities of the Video Editor are as follows:
- Ingesting and syncing all footage from shoots
- Multicam editing multiple drafts of procedures in collaboration with the editorial team
- Working closely with other video editors and the video lead to ensure a smooth workflow within the video department

Candidate Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
- Proficiency in Premiere Pro
- 2+ years of video production experience with a focus on editing
- Track record of establishing a smooth post-production workflow
- Great communication and problem-solving skills

A Plus:
- Experience with After Effects
- Filming experience
- Former work experience in a startup
- Background / interest in medicine and surgery

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $5.00 - $25.00 per hour
