The Warehouse Shipping Specialist is responsible for coordinating outgoing truckload destinations. The Warehouse Shipping Specialist prepares bill of ladings and determine the best options for customers transportation requirements.
Essential Job Duties:
- Sourcing and booking of outbound freight to optimize service at lowest costs
- Sourcing and booking of inbound freight to optimize service at lowest costs
- Review freight rates/service with carriers to optimize service at lowest cost
- Communicate with customer service concerning late or re-scheduled shipments
- Plan and track the shipment of final products according to customer requirements
- Prepare bills of lading and other related transportation documents
- Assist and support accounts payable with payment of carrier invoices
- Research & respond to carrier demurrage claims
- Research and respond to customer damage and shortage claims
- Monitor customer score cards and update Sales/Operations with current vendor rating
- Gather and update data for DC/Transportation metrics
- Updating in-house TMS system
- Log and schedule warehouse equipment maintenance needs
- Manage Shipping Clerk hours to assure correct manning for shipping volume
- Reconcile/track CHEP pallet inventory
- Coordinate Wal-Mart shipments via Retail Link web portal
- Assist in special projects as needed
- Assist with Operations and transportation manager as deemed necessary

Education & Experience:
- High School diploma is required
- 3+ years customer service experience preferably in distribution or transportation
